On June 14, 2020, Dr. Mario Villarroel President of the Venezuelan Red Cross, held a virtual meeting with the other presidents of the Red Cross of South America.

In this meeting it was possible to analyze the possible humanitarian aid campaign to the South American countries by the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL).

All the presidents of the South American Red Crosses and representatives of the sports organization attended this virtual meeting.

On May 29, 2020, Dr. Mario Villarroel President of the Venezuelan Red Cross, held a virtual meeting with the other presidents of the Red Crosses of the Latin American Committee of the Red Cross (CLACR).

In this meeting it was possible to analyze the situation regarding the Global Coca-Cola Company campaign in support of the national societies of the continent.

This virtual meeting was attended by the presidents of the Latin American Red Cross, as well as invited representatives of the American Red Cross, and the Regional Director of America, Mr. Walter Cotte, and representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

On May 27, 2020, Dr. Mario Villarroel President of the Venezuelan Red Cross chaired the National Steering Committee of the Venezuelan Red Cross,

This National Steering Committee allowed presentations regarding COVID 19 to be made by Dr. Bongioanni (director of the project for the Venezuelan Red Cross for humanitarian aid), and Dr. Carlos Ruiz (Director of Health of the National Society).

It consisted of the virtual presence of almost all the sectionals in the country.

On May 23, 2020, Dr. Mario Villarroel (President of the Venezuelan Red Cross), Dr. Miguel Villarroel (Vice President of the Venezuelan Red Cross and Vice President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies ) held a virtual meeting with Mr. Walter Cotte (IFRC Regional Director), Mr. Michele Di Tomasso (Head of the IFRC Operation in Venezuela) and Marissa Soberanis (Head of Projects in Venezuela). At that meeting, it was possible to analyze the strategies that the IFRC carries out in Venezuela, and what are the operational solutions to face COVID-19 in that country.

On May 23, 2019, Dr. Mario Villarroel, held a meeting with Dr. Kerem Kinit, Vice President of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent for Europe who is also the President of the Turkish Red Crescent.

The reason for the meeting was to analyze and try to support both the national society of the Venezuelan Red Cross and the population of that country.

The XXI Inter-American Conference of the Red Cross, was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina from May 20 to 23, 2019.

More than 300 representatives of the 35 National Societies of America analyzed the progress of the Movement in the continent since the last Conference held in Houston, Texas and widely discussed about the future of the Red Cross in the region, establishing as a priority the leadership and humanitarian vision.

Dr. Mario Villarroel, President of the Venezuelan Red Cross, held a private meeting with the Nobel Peace Prize Alberto Pérez Esquivel and participated with him within the framework of the Inter-American Conference of the Red Cross in the discussion entitled “Future of humanitarian action“.

As part of the celebration of the XXI Inter-American Conference of the Red Cross, a forum was held on the current situation of migration in the Americas. 6Th Presidents of the Red Cross in the American continent, (Guatemala, Mexico, Honduras, Costa Rica, Colombia and Venezuela).

There, it was possible to analyze the difficult situation of displaced people in South America and the northern triangle.

Dr. Mario Villarroel gave an exhibition on the current situation of Venezuelan migrants to different countries in the region.

On April 16, 2019, Dr. Mario Villarroel (Presidente de la Cruz Roja Venezolana) participated in the reception of humanitarian aid income in Venezuela.

Approximately at 8:00 am, the first flight with humanitarian aid from the International Federation arrived from the Humanitarian Hub in Panama. It contained 14 electric generators, medical surgical kits with a capacity for 30,000 people and medical supplies necessary to safeguard the lives of the most vulnerable.

Dr. Mario Villarroel, President of the Venezuelan Red Cross, held a courtesy meeting with Her Excellency Edit Buscsi-Szabó, Ambassador of Hungary in the Republic of Ecuador and Concurrent Ambassador in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, to analyze the situation of humanitarian aid in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
