
Visit to the National Society of the Haitian National Red Cross, after the earthquake that occurred in this country
On the 12th of February, Dr. Mario Villarroel visited the Dominican Red Cross Society and traveled along Dr. Ligia Leroux, President of that National Society, Annabella Folgar de Rocca, President of the Guatemalan Red Cross and Gustavo Lara, General Director of the Dominican Red Cross Society, to the Haitian National Red Cross Society after the earthquake that affected that country. Doctor Mario Villarroel Lander performed an official visit to the city of Port du Prince, Haiti, to personally observe the situation in that country after the devastating earthquake occurred on the 12th of January of 2010. In this visit, Dr. Villarroel could analyze the necessary elements to send the humanitarian aid collected through special operatives by the Venezuelan Red Cross. He established that the humanitarian help would consist of 500 tons of food and monetary aid in BsF. equal to 1 million dollars, approximately.
