Acknowledgement was granted to Doña Meneca de Mencia, President of the Red Cross of Honduras.

On the 15th day of September of 2010, an acknowledgment act in honor of Doña Meneca de Mencia was made by the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and several presidents of Latin American National Societies. The event was held in celebration of 50 years of her labor as volunteer of the Honduran Red Cross. 
The act was held in Tegucigalpa, capital city of Honduras, with attendance of national guests and members of the Executive Committee of Honduran Red Cross (C.R.H.), who shared acknowledgements given by Presidents of American Societies to the President of the Honduran Red Cross. The American authorities attending the event were: Ligia Leroux, President of Dominican Red Cross and CORI; Anabella Folgar de Roca, President of Guatemalan Red Cross; Benjamin Ruiz, President of Salvadorian Red Cross; Jaime Fernandez, President of Red Cross Society of Panama; Clemente Balmaceda, President of Nicaraguan Red Cross; and Mario Villarroel, President of Venezuelan Red Cross. In the same manner, representatives of the Secretary of the Federation, Xavier Castellanos and Fabricio López, attended the event. 
Doña Meneca de Mencia, distinguished President of Honduran Red Cross, was accompanied by her husband Doctor Daniel Mencia, her sons, partners of the Directive Committee of Honduran Red Cross, volunteers, rescuers, Ladies of Red Cross, officers, diplomats, civil and police authorities of the country.
